The PHTLS Provider course is designed to be an intensive 16-hour course for emergency medical responders, EMTs, Paramedics, nurses, physician assistants and physicians. Course Objectives:

Couse Description: The SHA NRP course provides participants with the knowledge and skills they need to assess, recognize and care for neonatal patients who are experiencing life-threatening emergencies where the healthcare providers need to act quickly and smoothly. The course emphasizes providing high-quality newborn care by integrating cognitive and psychomotor skills with critical thinking and problem solving to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
Course Objectives 
After completing the course, participants will be able to:
1. Demonstrate resuscitation skills, including providing initial steps, positive pressure ventilation, corrective steps, chest compression, umbilical cord venous catheterization, drug and volume expander administration.
2. Apply high performance team elements while newborn resuscitation.
3. Apply a systematic approach in evaluation and management of neonatal resuscitation.
4. Effectively evaluate, recognize and manage for a newborn patient experiencing respiratory arrest/failure or cardiac arrest.
 
Target audience & precourse requirements:
professional healthcare providers who directly care for neonate patients in a variety of settings and who could be called on to care for a critically ill neonate patient. This could include, but is not limited to, nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, physician assistants, respiratory therapists, emergency medical services, and other professional responders.

Couse Description: The Saudi Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Saudi PALS) Provider Course is for healthcare intended professionals who work with severely sick children who are experiencing respiratory and/or cardiovascular problems, as well as cardiopulmonary arrest. –     To enter the course, students must complete the ACLS Precourse Self-Assessment.

  • Cases may be repeated as many times as necessary to pass. Upon successful completion of all parts, students must pass the multiple-choice exam with a minimum score of 84%.
  • Upon successful completion of the online portion, students receive a certificate of completion, which they must present for entry into an Instructor-led hands-on skills session.

  • PALS Blended course

    Course Description

    HeartCode PALS is the AHA’s PALS blended learning delivery method. Blended learning is a combination of eLearning, in which a student completes part of the course in a self-directed manner, followed by a hands-on skills session.

    HeartCode PALS uses a personalized adaptive algorithm that sets students on the most efficient path to PALS mastery. Students follow a continuously adapting learning path that is personalized by their own inputs: their performance and their self- reported confidence level related to each probe.

    The course content is presented in the form of self-directed learning content, probes, and Cognitive Assessment Activities. The student has a choice of completing a pre-hospital or in-hospital contextualized track. After completing the online portion, students will attend a structured, Instructor-led hands-on session that focuses on meaningful skills practice, debriefing, team scenarios, discussions of local protocols and skills testing.

    Course Requirement:

    Upon successful completion of the online portion, students receive a certificate of completion, which they must present for entry into an Instructor-led hands-on skills session.

SHA BLS Provider Course (Hybrid)


Course Description: BLS Hybrid course is a combination of eLearning, in which a student has to review the online materials in a self-directed manner, followed by Part 2 where is a hands-on skills session led by authorized SHA BLS instructor.

Course Length: The time need to complete Part One; the online portion of BLS can vary depends on the student’s level of Knowledge and experience.

The Part 2; hands-on session for Hybrid BLS will take approximately One hour depends on the class size.

Target audience: This course is intended for all healthcare professionals and first responders who are involved in the care of cardiac and respiratory arrest either out of hospital or in hospital cardiac or respiratory arrest victims. 

The Part 2 : The hands-on must be done within 48 hrs after completing the online part.
