HANDS-ON FUNDAMENTAL MINIMAL INVASIVE SURGERY IN PEDIATRIC SURGERY& UROLOGY COURSE (FOR TRAINEE)

(Proof of enrollment in a training program at SCFHS must be submitted to the registration office to finalize the enrollment process)
Full program with details talks starting from basic and building the skills to advance level.
(Ergonomics, setup in Pediatrics Urology, Basic Suturing, and different surgical procedures in
Pediatric Surgery and Urology).
COURSE OUTCOME :
Course will provide theoretical updates on the most recent development of neonatal endoscopy
and intensive experimental session (Hands-on session) using small animals for each surgical
procedure step by step.
Some of the topics are:
• Ergonomics and installation
• Introduction and positioning of trocars
• Creation of a working space in the abdomen and the chest
• Instruments and energy devices
• Dissection, suturing and knotting simple, sliding knot and continuous and Back hand stitch.

Introduction:
Minimally Invasive Surgery has become an integral part of operative management in virtually
every realm of newborn and pediatric surgery in the last two decades. Although new instruments
and equipment are promoting these achievements, there is still a long journey in training before
Neonatal Endoscopic Surgery become safe and widespread.
The Workshop in Pediatric Surgery and Urology conducted by Gulf Endoscopic Pediatric Surgery
and Urology Group collaboration with the Department of Surgery, College of Medicine and King
Saud University Medical City, King Saud University.
